First music memory (first song you remember hearing or learning)?
One of my earliest music memories I have is hearing “Feel Good Inc.” and “Clint Eastwood” by the Gorillaz. I was about five at the time and my mom says I would dance every time it was played. As far as learning, I decided to do band in 6th grade. I started out playing flute and eventually moved to tenor saxophone. I distinctly remember the feeling of learning to play Hot Cross Buns for the first time. Brain to finger coordination was not there.
What’s the one thing you love now as much as you did when you were 14?
Something I still love as much as I did when I was a kid is Pokemon cards. They were easily one of my favorite things to collect and play with back in the day. I still have a lot of my old cards and now I’m working on building my collection around those!
Favorite book—now and when you were a kid?
My favorite book as a baby was “The Rainbow Fish.” I would just sit and stare at the cover because of how shiny and colorful it was. As a teen I read all of the Percy Jackson series sending me into a Greek Mythology binge. More recently I read “Sphere” by Micheal Crichton. Great book with cool imagery and a completely unexpected twist. Would absolutely recommend to any Sci-Fi lovers.
If you could learn anything instantly by downloading it into your brain Matrix-style, what would it be?
If I could learn anything by instantly downloading it into my brain it would realistically be languages. All of them. In a very close second it would be how to fly planes and helicopters. It’s a life goal of mine to get my pilots license and fly around in a cool little Cessna.
