Favorite book—now and when you were a kid?
As a kid, the Eyewitness Picture Encyclopedia series was my favorite. The ‘Explorer’ and ‘Ancient Egypt’ editions come to mind immediately. Most recently, I read the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. It might sound dry, but he was pivotal to the foundation of this country, and his first-hand perspective will change the way you view his legacy.

I took a guitar built with a Fender American Deluxe neck and a Stratocaster-style sunburst body in lieu of payment for a gig. It’s been with me for six years now and through many shows. I take pride in every scratch and dent.
